Lucrezia's Poison Locket by Alchemy Gothic
A beautiful and intricate locket by Alchemy based on the artist Veneziano's (c.1515) painting of Lucrezia Borgia wearing the necklace (see painting above). The locket is made from solid pewter with a central rectangle housing a red glass cabochon. The back of this section has a hinged opening where it is rumoured she hid the poison she used on her lovers. Each of the four corners of the rectangle is decorated with little skulls and the necklace is finished with four enamelled points on the background frame. Comes on a split curb chain.
Pendant: 2" x 2" (5cm x 5cm)
Chain length: 20" (51cm)
*This necklace has been retired by Alchemy and has now become a rare collector's item*
